The first thing you should do is to create a document to help organize the whole thing. Over time, you will have many changes and new ideas. The document might have the following structure:
Task flow: Describe how the events of the day will happen. While doing this you will find out that you can't do some things because you are busy doing other things. You will likely want to get an assistant in order to do everything in time.
Before the wedding - things you need to do: Clean lenses, bring tripod, bring AC adapter, bring microphones, turn off the "Beep" sound from the camera, bring plastic bag to protect the camera from the rain, make sure all tapes are rewound and ready. Your list will grow over time.
Video structure. What will you want in the final production and with an estimated time for each section including ideas of shots to take during the ceremony.
Interviews. Questions to ask the wedding couple and the guests.
Titles. What to put in text form. Date, time, location, name of the officiant, reception venue, names of the flower girl, ring bearer, bride’s maids, groomsmen and guests.
